How Radon Testing Works
How Professional Radon Testing Works
At Radon Testing DMV, we use professional-grade Airthings Pro Continuous Radon Monitors operated by NRSB-certified Radon Measurement Specialists.
Step 1: Schedule Your Appointment
Choose a convenient date and time online or call us directly.
Step 2: Maintain Closed-House Conditions
For accurate testing:
- Keep windows closed
- Keep exterior doors closed except normal entry and exit
- Operate HVAC systems normally
- Avoid window fans and whole-house fans
Closed-house conditions must begin at least 12 hours before testing.
Step 3: Device Placement
Our technician places a calibrated monitor in the lowest livable area of the property according to EPA and NRSB standards.
Step 4: 48-Hour Monitoring Period
The monitor continuously measures radon concentrations for at least 48 hours.
Step 5: Report Delivery
Once the test is complete, we analyze the results and provide a detailed report showing:
- Average Radon Level
- Hourly Measurements
- EPA Recommendations
- Testing Conditions
Most reports are delivered within the same day or within 24 hours of device retrieval.
