Service Area, Scheduling and Delivery

Radon Testing DMV provides an on-site service, not a shipped product. Nothing is mailed to you, so no shipping charges apply. This page explains where we travel, how appointments work, and how your results are delivered.

Where we test

We serve the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area:

  • Virginia: Fairfax County (Reston, McLean, Vienna, Great Falls, Tysons), Loudoun County (Ashburn, Leesburg), Arlington, Alexandria, and Prince William County.
  • Maryland: Montgomery County (Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring) and Frederick County.
  • Washington, DC: all quadrants.

If your property is just outside these areas, contact us before booking. We can often accommodate it, sometimes with a travel surcharge quoted in advance.

How scheduling works

After you book, we confirm your appointment by email or text, usually the same business day. A standard short-term test involves two visits:

  • Placement: a technician sets the detector in the lowest livable level of the property. This visit takes about 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Retrieval: we return after a minimum 48-hour test period to collect the device and close out the test.

We schedule arrival windows rather than exact times so we can account for traffic and site conditions, and we will call or text when the technician is on the way.

Access requirements

Someone must let us in, or you must arrange access such as a lockbox or door code, at both visits. Please secure pets and keep the test area clear. If we arrive and cannot access the property, the visit is treated as a same-day cancellation under our Cancellation, Rescheduling and Refund Policy.

Rush and same-week testing

Real estate transactions often run on short deadlines. If you need a fast turnaround, tell us the date you need results by before you book and we will confirm whether we can meet it.

How you receive your results

Your report is delivered digitally by email, typically within one business day after retrieval. There is no physical delivery and no shipping fee. If you need the report sent to an agent, attorney, or contractor, tell us and we will include them.
